Day of Silence

The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transexual) Alliance is sponsoring their annual Day of Silence on April 25 this year.

I abhor any ill treatment of any human being--except for those who have given up their rights by taking innocent life. I'd be curious to see what kind of attention any other group would get for sponsoring a Day of Silence for the unborn children who never get a chance to speak up for themselves. And, how about a Day of Silence for the countless numbers of women who suffer through physical abuse and even 'honor' killings under sharia law.

My guess is that both possibilities would be run out of the schools. One would be accused of shoving religion down the throats of students; the other would be labeled Islamophobic.

The “Day of Silence” campaign, though peaceful in its intentions, does little to explain in simple terms the injustice to those whose sexual orientation differs from others. Those behind the Day of Silence operation would do far better to keep the lines of communication open, respectfully, and not like a mob.

Lores, my dear friend you are right on target with the scenario of a school silence crusade for the unborn or victims who fail to follow ‘sharia law’. Not only would such an event get squashed, but expulsion from school would be forthcoming to any participant.

It is amazing to me how people still associate the liberals with greater tolerance and freedom. Yet it is the liberals who advocate murdering the helpless unborn, have showed political correctness down our throats, and confiscate our hard-earned money through exhorbitant, meddlesome income taxes in its various manifest and hidden forms.

As for male homosexual behavior, I cannot in good conscience call it a viable, alternative lifestyle. As G-d Himself describes it in the Bible, that such behavior is plainly a disgusting abomination. It is completely perverted.

Of course, I do not advocate being mean to or persecuting homosexuals, just as I do not advocate such behavior toward any group that does not advocate or practice senseless violence. Yet at the same time, I do think that our society has a responsibility to have moral standards, one of which being that the only normal, healthy sex that exists is that between an adult man and an adult woman.
